Great place to hike with the kids. They love heading to the hatchery.
This park is great for numerous outdoor activities. Whether you want to hike, John, trail run, cross country ski, Snowshoe, Bird Watch, go for a Leisure nature walk, do some nature photography... There's a lot to do here and it is very easy to navigate. Things to consider when going to this park: they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays, they once in awhile close depending on weather, and the warmer months = many ticks.
Readon for 4 stars instead of 5: the park recently started locking the gate off vets highway at 4pm. After 10 years of running these trails after work, I no longer can. I miss them. Please change the policy back to how it use to be.
Pay $8 just to walk around?!?.. Shouldn’t happen!!
Beautiful oasis on Long Island. Great flat soft running trails. Deer, turkey, red fox, birds of prey all can be seen. Run past the trout hatchery over a stream, along side a large pond. This is one of my favorite stretches of the greenbelt trai.
